German Grain Sacks…old and authentic

I am the purveyor of industrial, mercantile and one-of-a-kind furnishings and accouterments much of which is repurposed at Urban Indian, my husband, Ken’s, workshop. My public showspace is located at Hudson Supermarket in Hudson, New York (www.hudsonsupermarket.com).
For the past 14 years, though, my great love has been German grain sacks. My collection ranges from 1807 to 1940 and I have used them all over my house as upholstery, curtains and art… and all over myself as embellishment for clothing and bags. Even a plain old pile of sacks is compelling!
I have many hundreds of grain sacks, possibly the largest collection in the USA! They are all old and authentic. There are many samples throughout this site.
